    District III

     

    My name is Sylvia Erickson and I am proud to serve as your District III Director for the 2010-2011 term.  District III consists of 33 members within Bladen, Columbus, Cumberland, Duplin, Harnett, Hoke, Lee, Moore, Richmond, Robeson, Sampson and Scotland Counties.

    The Cumberland County Paralegal Association (CCPA) holds its monthly meetings on the second Thursday of each month at various restaurants in Fayetteville.  CCPA’s website is www.ccpara.com

     

     

    District IV  

    My name is Karen England, and I am your new Interim District IV Director.  I have worked in the legal arena in several capacities since 1978.  I have been employed in my current position with the High Point firm of Wyatt Early Harris Wheeler for 15 years and work in the area of litigation.  

     

    Guilford Paralegal Association and Alamance County Paralegal Association both hold monthly meetings, as well as many opportunities for CPE credit throughout the year.  GPA’s meetings are held in the evening on the second Tuesday of each month in either Greensboro or High Point.  ACPA’s meetings are held during the noon hour, and their meeting place also varies.

    District V

    Greetings to all District V members!  I am honored to serve as District V Director and represent you on the NCPA Board.  One of my responsibilities is to assist with developing policies for our organization.  These policies will affect you!  Please share your ideas and concerns so our District will be represented.  If you have ideas for a mini-seminar or meeting topic, let me know.  I hope to have a few gatherings this year.  In addition, let me know of CLE opportunities in your area.  I will try my best to have the information published in a future issue of the Amicus and on the NCPA website.  I will keep you abreast of issues facing the NCPA and I encourage you to get involved.  There are opportunities to serve at various levels of commitment.

    District VII

    Greetings District VII Members! My name is Stephanie Ivans, NCCP and I am honored and excited to serve as the District VII Director! My goal is to hold monthly meetings in alternating locations across the district so everyone has a chance to attend. The next meeting will be in April. I will be sending an email in the near future with details; I very much appreciate and encourage your input about dates, times and meeting places.

    I am very interested in increasing the membership in our district. I would like to encourage and challenge all members to invite another paralegal / co-worker to the next meeting to learn more about the benefits of NCPA!     My name is Lisa D. Childress, NCCP  and I am excited to be your new Interim District IX Director.  I look forward to serving District IX as your representative to the NCPA Board.   I encourage your input and will relay any comments, suggestions and/or ideas to the NCPA Board on your behalf.  

     

    District IX consists of Ashe, Avery, Burke, Caldwell, Catawba, Cleveland, Lincoln, McDowell, Mitchell, Polk, Rutherford, Watauga and Yancey counties. 

     

    Local Associations:

    The Catawba Valley Paralegal Association (“CVPA”) is in their third year and holds monthly meetings at various locations in and around the Newton/Hickory area.  Membership in CVPA is open to paralegals, legal assistants, legal secretaries, attorneys, students in paralegal programs, paralegal educators, employees of judicial entities and/or other commonly recognized legal agencies in or around Catawba County.  CLE is free to members.  For more information please see CVPA’s website at:  www.catawbavalleyparalegalassoc.org.
